Homes and Housing Need Survey
Melksham Town and Melksham Without Parish Councils are committed to the sustainable development of our area, protecting and enhancing the local places we value and working to deliver housing, jobs and facilities that meets the needs of the community.
Wiltshire Council has a responsibility to plan for housing growth across the County. It is currently undertaking a review of its Local Plan policy framework. It includes information about the level of growth for Melksham and Melksham Without until 2038 and includes allocations of land for new market and affordable housing.
The review of the Joint Melksham and Melksham Without Neighbourhood Plan brings a new opportunity for local policy to have a key role in shaping the type, tenure and design of new housing development in our area. It can help ensure that new homes meet the changing needs of our community whilst protecting what we value about our neighbourhoods and villages and linking housing development to the delivery of the facilities communities need.
