Policy 5 (Community Engagement) of Neighbourhood Plan 2 aims to facilitate a structured approach to enable effective involvement of the local community in outline and full planning applications.

Since 2011 we have had in place a Pre-application Community Engagement Protocol which sets out information and processes for the community engagement to start very early in the preparation of applications, working with the communities of Melksham via the Town and Parish Councils.

 

It's use contributes to improved outcomes and development proposals that better take account of local circumstances.
